Beginning July 31, Marc Campolo, Ph.D., is joining ˿����Ƶ Tech/OHSU as director of the upcoming Doctor of Physical Therapy program, which is the first doctoral degree for ˿����Ƶ Tech.

The ˿����Ƶ Board of Trustees met on July 24, both remotely and with some of the members in-person at the university’s Klamath Falls campus, with the primary focus to review the university’s re-opening plans for fall 2020.

At ˿����Ƶ (˿����Ƶ Tech), the Student Veteran Program (SVP) continues to act on this by recently providing aid to veterans in Klamath County through their new program called “Vets Helping Vets.”

Pursuing engineering degrees at ˿����Ƶ Tech, Rowan Parker and Rianna Delgado have received scholarships to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration, which brings the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Parker and Delgado are both studying Software Engineering Technology.

Krista Beaty, assistant professor of Dental Hygiene at ˿����Ƶ (˿����Ƶ Tech), has been selected as recipient of the Sigma Phi Alpha Excellence in Journalism award, a national recognition from the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society and supported by Johnson & Johnson©

Accepting the need for remote learning in a course that requires hands-on learning, ˿����Ƶ Tech’s Medical Imaging faculty turn to custom camera setups for answers

˿����Ƶ Tech receives approximately 40 percent of its budget from the state; thus, the financial health of the university and the state are intricately linked. The state has estimated that it will take at least four years to get back to pre-COVID employment levels, and up to a decade of structural deficits.

Known for the highly competitive nature of their program, six students from the ˿����Ƶ Tech/OHSU Medical Laboratory Science program have been awarded national and state scholarships for their academic accomplishments

The University plans to begin in-person fall classes on September 21, a week earlier than originally scheduled. Resumption of in-person teaching will be guided by Governor Brown’s staging plan for the state to reopen higher education institutions across ˿����Ƶ; as well as guidance received from state health, education and other officials.

˿����Ƶ Tech celebrated the 72nd annual commencement ceremony Saturday as graduates and their families joined virtually.
