Today was the grand opening of our new “C.A.B. Lounge”! 👋 WHAT: The Campus Activities Board kicked off #HootiesWinterWonderland by providing students (mostly CAB student workers) with an open space of their own to work and chill out in between classes.

In honor of #˿����ƵTech75, the Owl Citizenship Award was established by generous donors to recognize acts of service that make our university and communities a better place.

To celebrate #˿����ƵTech75 we are continuing our “Then and Now” series, showcasing life at ˿����Ƶ Tech through all of its different identities and unbelievable moments. 1951 is the earliest our yearbooks date back to. Here you can see students of “˿����Ƶ Vocational School” outside of the original Cornett Hall’s Diesel Lab, at the old campus on Old Fort Road, the site of a former WWII Marine corps barracks used to treat Marines who contracted tropical diseases.

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Riley Richards, Assistant Professor in Communication Studies Originally from Greenville, Mich., Dr. Riley Richards came to ˿����Ƶ Tech with what he refers to as “formal teaching methods,” including lecturing and keeping concepts theoretical. “To say that this teaching style didn’t go over well with students during my first few weeks would be an understatement,” said Richards. ˿����Ƶ Tech prides itself on hands-on, project-based learning, and Richards has now successfully transitioned to this style in his Communication Studies courses.
